Giving Back

How we as a farm give back.

We love what we do,  everyone on the farm believes that it's a privilege to enjoy the space, animals and time that we have. When and where we can, we give back a bit of time, product or financial assistance. Read on to see how we do this.

Charity in the Barn

Initially the 'brainchild' of our then 10 year old who put together reindeer food and pet treats for our customers to purchase for a small donation when they collected their Turkey, is now in it's 5th year. Over £500 has been raised so far, by the collection buckets where people pop their spare change or purchase a small treat bag. We have supported, so far; Great Ormond Street Hospital, Guide Dogs for the Blind, Heathfield Age Concern, St Wilfred's Hospice, Eastbourne and The Farming Community Network (FCN).

Educational Visits

We have welcomed two School visits to the farm. Framfield CEP School have been a regular bi-annual visitor, exploring the fields, finding out what's growing in them and spending the day getting to know where their food actually comes from.

During the C19 lockdown period we virtually hosted a School from inner London, enabling them to see the barns, fields and machinery as well as answering their questions.

We had the pleasure in the Spring of '24 to visit Blackboys CEP School taking part in their KS2 Careers Fair, answering the pupils questions and encouraging the farmers of the future. Of course the big red tractor was a huge attraction in the School playground!

In Spring '23 we visited our local WI, Heffle to chat to them about the farm and all things 'farm fitness'.

We thoroughly and genuinely enjoy talking about our farm, it is after all run on a drive for a better future for the next generations and abundant amount of teamwork. As a great farmer once recently said to us 'dreams don't work, unless you do'.

Supporting Local Food Banks

Since 2022 we have supported the Uckfield Community Fridge/Foodbank and last year we approached the Hailsham Community Foodbank to work with us as well.

We offer surplus cuts of our produce (wings, legs from crowns etc) to these initiatives and are proud to be able to offer help to those who need it.
