A belated Happy New Year. Whilst the winter rain seemingly never stopping, the farm is once again mucked out and tidy again. The barns are laid dormant currently, awaiting the flock of 2024.  Once our barns are cleared and cleaned, we keep them empty for at least 8weeks before one more pre-clean and set up of pens start again. This is just another way of keeping disease risk and cross contamination of flocks as low as possible.

Taking advantage of the rain by keeping office bound means we are about to place our yearly order for the poults (baby turkeys), Yes, we really do think about Christmas pretty much all year round, it's a good job it's our favourite time of year, but like most farmers and the rest of the UK we would really appreciate a bit of sun at least for a few weeks, this winter has been too long!
